Planted in the 1960s, this Pokolbin vineyard comprises of Shiraz and about 2% Trebbiano. These varieties are co-fermented adding colour, aromatics and enhancing the balance. Fruit for the Old Vines Shiraz is dry grown, therefore very low yielding, at around 1 tonne per acre. This vineyard makes a Shiraz that is generous, complex and elegant. After fermentation & pressing, the wine matures in 500 litre French oak barrels for 16 months.
